Town and Country Pediatrics is pleased to announce the newest addition to our provider staff, Beth Shapiro, LCSW. Ms. Shapiro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is experienced in working with children, adolescents and their parents. She utilizes a family systems training to provide a strength-based approach to evaluate, treat and prevent mental and emotional problems in children. She may analyze psychosocial development, behavior, interpersonal relationships, and environmental stresses as they impact the individual child and the family as a whole.
Evaluation and treatment by Ms. Shapiro may involve testing, in office observation, behavioral modification, and/or pharmaceutical therapy. If pharmaceutical therapy will be used as part of treatment, an in office consultation and examination will occur with our own pediatrician Dr. Connie Blade.
“Mental health” therapy is confidential. Ms. Shapiro will maintain her own observation and treatment charts during consultation with your child and family. These notes will not be filed with your child’s Town and Country medical chart, rather a consultation letter detailing the findings/recommendations will be generated and submitted to your child’s Town and Country primary care medical provider.
Ms. Shapiro has a diagnostic/treatment room set up at the Lincoln office for her meetings with you and your children. In the future, office hours may be expanded to include an evening at the Halsted location. Feel free to contact Ms. Shapiro if you have questions about specific services or if you would like to schedule an appointment. You can reach her at the Lincoln office 6374 N.
