Town and Country Pediatrics utilizes a computerized
scheduling system which is interfaced between the practice sites.
You can make or cancel appointments at any site for any location.
It is the policy of Town and Country Pediatrics to see patients
by appointment only. If you walk in to be seen without
an appointment, you will be given the next available appointment
and will be asked to return at that time. Appointment Types
New Patient Visits: All new patients must have a healthy
child visit before they can be seen for sick visits. Please arrive
early and allow 30-45 minutes with your provider. A parent or legal
guardian must accompany a child to this appointment. If you need
to reschedule your first appointment, please call at least 24 hours
before your scheduled appointment time to avoid a fee for a cancelled
appointment.
Established Visits – Healthy Child:
We have developed a schedule for our patients from birth to age 18
for their healthy check ups. (See our Healthy Check up Schedule).
School age exams must occur yearly in order for us to complete the
child’s school health form or camp form. To avoid the frustration of
trying to get an appointment right before school starts, we advise
you to make an annual appointment around your child’s birthday. We
have school forms on file to fill out manually. Just inform the
receptionist that you would like this visit to be your child’s
school form visit and we will mail or you can pick up the school
form when it is available. Please allow 24 hours notice for
cancellations, otherwise a cancellation fee will be applied to your
account.
Established Visits – Sick Child:
An established patient can be seen for sick visits on the same day
you call. Just call the office to make an appointment. We do not
make “sick” visits for future dates. This policy is in effect in
response to the fact that children tend to be sick one day and
better or worse the next. To avoid further complications, it is best
for your child to come in to be seen on the day your child is sick.
Once your child has had their New Patient Visit, they are considered
“established”. Newborns seen by our physicians in the hospital are
considered “established” patients. Please allow 1 hour notice if you
wish to cancel your child’s sick appointment, otherwise a
cancellation fee will be applied to your account.
Re-check Visits: These visits are for the times your provider
wants you to come back and have your child’s condition re-checked.
One of the most common illnesses for this visit is an ear infection.
The provider will want to see if the medication or treatment they
prescribed is working or has worked.
Nursing Visits: There are times when you will need to bring
your child in for vaccines or shots. You must speak to a nurse or
medical assistant to get an appointment. These appointments are
booked the same day-no advance appointments are available.
Pre-operative Visits: A pre-op visit is very much like a
healthy child exam. Your child’s surgeon will inform you of
when you need to have the exam. The exam needs to be close enough
to the surgery to proclaim the child healthy enough for surgery.
Hospital Visits: If your child is under our care in Children’s
Memorial Hospital, Evanston Hospital, or Northwestern Hospital,
our doctors will examine your child daily.
After Hours Visits: These are sick appointments
that are made:
- after 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday (Halsted)
- after 3 p.m. Saturday*subject to change depending on pt volume
(Halsted/Glenview)
- after 5 p.m. Halsted on Fridays/Lincoln weekdays/Glenview
weekdays
- after 2 p.m. Sunday* subject to change depending on pt volume
An additional minimum fee of $25 will be assessed for these visits.
