Appointments

Town & Country Pediatrics is open seven days and four nights a week at our Halsted and Glenview locations, with expanded Early Hours at Halsted available to all practice patients, as we strive to provide the most convenient scheduling options for all of our families. Our evening and weekend schedules are open for both check-ups and sick visits. We recommend that our patients have one primary office for their well-child visits; however, for your convenience, any of our locations may be used for a sick appointment. View all of our hours here.

It is the policy of Town & Country Pediatrics to see patients by appointment only. To honor our patients with existing appointments, walk-in patients will be offered the next available appointment time and may be charged a convenience walk-in fee if seen immediately.

Appointment Types

New Patient Visits

All new patients must have a HEALTHY CHILD visit before they can be seen for sick visits.  This allows for our providers to have a more comprehensive understanding of your child's medical history, medications, and allergies prior to addressing an acute illness.

Please arrive early and allow 30-45 minutes with your provider.  A parent or legal guardian must accompany a child to this appointment.

Please bring a copy of your child's medical records to your appointment for your provider to review.

Established Visits – Healthy Child

Routine well-child appointments are recommended to help ensure your child's physical health and development. The linked schedule is in accordance with that of the American Academy of Pediatrics. For school-aged children, we can complete your child's school health form or camp form based on a well-child exam within the prior calendar year.

Our wellness appointments are typically 15 minutes. We respect your time and want to minimize your wait time in our office. Please note that in effort to maintain our providers on schedule, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you arrive more than 7 minutes late, or half your appointment time. Failed appointments without 24 hours notice may be charged a $50 fee.

Sick Child

If you have a sick child, you may call to schedule a same day appointment.  We trust your parental judgement; you do NOT need to speak to a doctor or nurse prior to making this appointment.  Each of our 3 offices have appointment times throughout the day reserved for these sick appointments.  Our Halsted office now offers EARLY MORNING HOURS to better accommodate our patients' needs.  Additionally, our Halsted and Glenview offices offer extended evening hours.

Nursing Visits

There may be times when you will need to bring your child in for only vaccines or a lab test. You must speak to a nurse or medical assistant to determine the necessity of these appointments.

Pre-operative Visits

A pre-operative, or "pre-op" appointment is often required by your child's surgeon or specialist prior to a scheduled procedure requiring anesthesia. This exam is done to ensure that your child is healthy enough to undergo the surgery or procedure.

The surgeon or specialist will inform you of when this exam needs to be done and  will give you a "pre-op" form to be completed at this appointment. If your child has a fever or is ill, the "pre-op" appointment should be deferred until he/ she is feeling better.

Hospital Visits

Our physicians are on staff at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Evanston Hospital, and Northwestern's Prentice Women's Hospital. If your child requires NON-specialty inpatient care at one of these hospitals, our physicians will be rounding daily to examine your child, and work closely with the resident physicians or hospitalists to direct your child's inpatient care. Healthy newborns will be examined daily until discharged home with the mother.

Early Hours

Early Hours: Monday – Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. – Scheduled appointments for children who become sick after the office is closed. Scheduled after regular business hours Sunday through Thursday by our Answering Service. Appointments are at our Halsted Office for patients from all three of our locations. There is no premium charged for Early Hours appointments, but there is a no-show fee for appointments that are not cancelled within 45 minutes.

After Hours Visits

Children can get sick at any time of day and night.  We recognize that while some illnesses require the resources of an emergency room, others can be appropriately managed in the office.  In addition to our regularly scheduled early morning and evening hours, Town & Country Pediatrics offers extended late evening hours to provide our families the convenience and continuity of having your child seen by your own doctors and nurse practitioners. In order to be able to offer this service, there will be an additional "after-hours" fee of $40.
